The crazy process of following a plan. Well guys, I keep on thinking about breaking my rules. After the 100 plus pip drop on the several pairs today, I keep thinking that it’s time to try something else. I just want to make more faster. Doesn’t everyone? I almost opened 100,000 trade size lot instead of a 1,000 trade size lot. Craziness. Now, this would be a opened trade without planning that likely would have cost me thousands. My reports point out that every set back or lose has been caused by simply breaking my rules outlined in this thread. Does anyone else have this problem with trading? Why can’t I just keep to the plan? Several months show that the plan works.

Dear Mikey,

what you are doing is just fine! you’re doing exception well up YTD for now. Your ROI weekly more than 2%/week compounding! that’s almost 110%/year. That’s fantastic. Please do not break your rule if it works well for you. In trading, greed & fear factors will come, and you should keep them at bay.

For me, I’m a mechanical trader. I commit and follow 100% at my trading rules. Furthermore, I’m kinda conservative trader! so, I win small and also lose small. However the end of the day, hopefully, I am on the positive sign.

One last things I’m highly recommend is TRADING IS A MARATHON, IT’S NOT SPRINT!

This is probably independent from what I think, lol! Okay, I think you can maybe reach your goal of 1m bucks if your edge and risk/money management is good enough plus on top a little or even a little more luck, but it will become very impossible to have all the numbers in all the months exactly right to the penny, lol. Even the very best trader can have a losing month.

Plus I think you have to take into consideration tax deductions.

I think you pay taxes when you take money out of the account. I could have millions in there and not pay a penny in taxes so long as I grow the cash and do not take any out.

This depends on tax rules in your country. Ask your tax office for that. In most countries I know you have to pay every year on roi. If it’s not a company with independent legal entity.

This my friend can be very tricky. Because the government only stands pat close at your bank account if you make money and not if you lose, lol.

I mean, there are some rules where you can sum up income with expenses or losses, but this doesn’t work over too many years in advance or backwards. Usually there is a limit.

As of 12-30-2011,

Account balance is $3166.45. There is an increase about 1.5% this week due to holidays. However, this is a great news: I’m continue to extend my wining week to 15th consecutive weeks. Happy new year everyone. We’re about less than 48 hours to farewell 2011!

I think given the current market volatility it is going to be hard to make 20% return every month. Risk Management is going to be key, and its going to be tough to predict which way things are going to go. One minute euro up on good news and other day its bad. I would only be taking long positional bets at these market conditions.

Isn’t it the case that with greater mkt volatility it’s easier to make big money? Goldman had an entire quarter with no single trading day closing at a loss with all the volatility. Look at it this way: how many of your trades hit their SL only to later reverse through the TP? In high mkt volatility you can sometimes widen your normal SL and then start winning half your normal losers as well as winning the on-strategy winners.

Hello great traders,

As of 01-05-12, account balance is 3180! a 0.6% increase this week. Due to holidays and lacking of volume, therefore, not many trading activities this week. However, we have one more trading tomorrow, which is NFP. Hopefully, I can wrap so more week to have a good start of 2012.

P.S believe it or not, this is my 16th winning straight week! and I plan to add more funds in the account (another 3k) so that’s would be awesome!
