Impossible thing.
Hi Luis
I’m a beginner myself, so I can’t offer what you’re asking for. I’d just like to stress the fact that there are MANY people out there who’d like nothing better than to get their hands inside your wallet.
So, do find yourself a mentor, but do not, EVER give out your social security number, credit card number or money or anything else a scammer might want.
I’m sure you’re well aware of this, just wanted to point out that a post such as yours may attract a lot of these type of persons. And from what I understand, it can be extremely hard to know who’s who.
A mentor is fine, just get a good one. That’s the tricky, even maybe dangerous, part.
Not my meaning to scare you though.
Best regards
Thanks for the advice. How long you’ve been trading for?
Still on demo, although going live is coming closer.
My forex journey began about a year ago. Might seem long, but even for smart people it takes some time actually. I’d like to think I’m pretty smart anyway
I think that a year of learning is pretty normal from what I’ve seen around this forum.
You’re young, take your time and do this thoroughly rather than hastily. In the long run that approach always pays off.

the IDEAL situation for learning forex is a mentor, and at that point i will have to stop ---- who, what, when, where, how much, how long ?

Nobody worth their salt is going to come to you in response to a piece like this and if they did I would have more than a few misgivings about them. You are going to have to find them, convince them you are worth taking on and like it or not you will need to pay handsomely for the privilege. Their fees will be at least the level of good business coaches and life coaches so you can expect upwards from $500 per hour for individual work. A cost effective alternative is a well regarded trading group. You might try James room on the 40-100 thread and/or Jimmy Young at EURUSD trader. I have been a member of both, still am with the latter and can attest to their skills, ethics, knowledge and honesty
Luis,
Feel free to look at my trading log on babypips
http://forums.babypips.com/newbie-island/19553-jlane-trading-dairy.html
I am keeping a very detailed account of my trades.
I typically trade from the open of the London market to the close of the New York market.
Even with years of experience trading futures & options it still took me about a year to feel comfortable trading Forex.
Without any trading experience I imagine that it could take several years to acquire the necessary skills; after about 5 or 6 years of trading you begin to know what you are doing
Agree with the above… anyone successful in this hasn’t got time or inclination to be trawling through boards and emailing potential students… they don’t need students…
If you can’t find a mentor the best mentor is “experience”. Keep your day job, trade on paper first, find a system you like… there’s hundreds even on here… then save up and deposit 1k in a mini account and trade it… you’ll probably loose it, but you will learn more about yourself than emailing someone and following a set of somebody else’s rules… you don’t have their mind-set either, which is the most important part… we all trade uniquely according to personality.
i’ve always wanted a mentor.
but there is no one out there who would waste their time on someone else without benefit pplus.
the best mentor is yourself.
i want a mentor also but have no money to pay
EdgarNG, your avatar is awesome! PPG was one of my favorite cartoons growing up.
Also, I’ve signed up with Jimmy Young after hearing tonymand’s recommendation. It’s good stuff. You should definitely check it out.
I looked very hard to find the best coaching and I found Mr. Stephen Story at Forex Trading | Forex Coaching | Forex Tips | Forex System He has a ton of free stuff. Check it out.

I’m also 17 and completely new to forex.
I always wanted to make money from home without having to work so I looked at eBay(business there is ok) then Stocks.
I while doing some research and looking for good books on how to buy stocks, I come across forex. This was only 1 month ago and I’m sucking in all the ebooks, tutorials I can find to help me trade.
If you want, I can share with you the systems I have study so far and possibilities I have found to succeed, but I have learned that patients and practice comes first.
I hope to achieve greatness and I wish you and I the best of luck…
