Greetings,
If for example I am TRADER A and have a trading account in which I have $400 as my capital, and I enter into a trade EG. USD/CHF at 0.1560 , and I go long and exit at 0.1660. and I make a $40 profit on this trade, would TRADER B who has a $4000 trading account get $400 on the exact same trade ? and TRADER C who has a $40 000 account make $4000 on the exact same trade?
Its not so much a question of account size as it is of position size. If you buy 10 lots, your result would be 10 times the result from buying one lot. Of course, you need enough equity in your account to cover the margin required by the broker. Hope that helps.
In general the same lot size in the same currency pair should result in the same move. So if 1 lots earned $50 than 10 lots would earn $500 etc.
When you open trade not all of your deposit (trading margin) is involved into a trade. There is a concept called lot size. If it changes, then potential profit or less is changed as well.
Someone might trade $10/pip (one standard lot), make a 100 pips and thus earn themselves a nice $1,000. In the meantime, someone else might be taking the same trade (for the sake of simplicity, let’s say they both enter & exit at the exact same prices), but he might be trading one half of a standard lot ($5/pip). This would earn the second trader 500 dollars on a 100 pip move in his favour. It all depends on your position size, meaning how much you’re willing to risk/earn per pip.
But it also depends on how much risk a trader is willing to take. Someone who has a $10,000 is significantly more prone to trading one standard lot on a trade than someone with a $1,000. Then again, the trader with $1,000 might be a high-risk trader, so he might decide to take on as much as 100:1 leverage in an attempt to make himself some quick money. However, he’s also risking his hard earned cash, affording just a 100 pip move against him before his account is wiped out.
It depends on the position size and assuming you mean this, then yes…
If same trader increases lot size he can make big profit in same capital but certainly money management has to be considered. In your example if lot size is increase 10x, profit will also increase like wise.
