Hi, I am learning this “game” and trying to use RSI, Momentum, and stochastic indicators, my platform gives me default settings for these , but I do not know what values to use for different time frames.I assume the defaults are best for the daily charts, but what should I use for, say, 4hr and 1 hr charts?
The bottom line is that you really have to experiment to find the setting which suits the timeframe of the trades you are looking to take. I you want shorter trades, use lower settings. If you want longer traders, use higher settings.
Or, you can just use the default settings and adjust your chart timeframe to suit your needs. Functionally, it’s the same thing.
The better question is whether you actually know what the indicators represent?

If you are using mt4 apply the layers template you will see how the settings for the same indicators are different on different timeframes also that template applies some different indicators for different timeframes, it has RSI and stochastic so that template might be a good starting point
