Hey Kichie,
Welcome to Babypips. It looks like you are learning to swim in the deep end of the pool Good that you have a good attitude about it. The fastest way to learn is to use real money, as the emotions and reactions are very real, but keep it small, use micro lots, where each pip will be about $0.10. Conversely, you can also start with a demo account and trade that for about 6 months to a year. There is no substitute for screen time.
Looking back to when I started about two years ago, if could tell myself then what I know now, I would say sign up with a good online mentor. Why? Because when there is a community that all follow the same strategy and mindset, it makes your learning (and subsequent earning potential) go A LOT faster. You get to see where you make your mistakes and you don’t have to round and round on your own using up a lot of energy. Unlike school, copying is not a bad thing here. Use a template first and then add your own touches later.
The people I recommend are, Nial Fuller, Andrew Mitchum (fellow Australians/Kiwis) and Chris Capre to name a few. I don’t get a commission for recommending them, its just who I found are genuine and their system works. Don’t be turned off by the price $300 - $1000. It’s much cheaper and shorter than a university education and can potentially help you make more than with a degree (potentially).
There is so much more to say, but now that you have found Babypips, you are on your way. Good luck and keep posting.
Cheers!
Cheers for the warm welcome I practiced with a demo for 4-5 months and thought it was time for real one doing 0.02 trades until I get the hand of it. thanks for the info!
Great to hear. 0.02 is a great start. You can easily scale out half and let the other run.
Do you trade with price action? I find it the purest form of trading, along with a one or two supporting indicators and you are good to go. There are great courses on PA. All the best!
Nice, great job!
My suggestion is to keep the lot sizes small and keep up the good work… keep your risk in check…
Price Action? I’ve been using Alligator along side RSI which I find fairly useful.
Hi Joe! Glad to have you in our forex community and it’s great that you’re managing your risk properly with a live account. Keep us posted on your progress and may the pips be with you!
