Are Robots Slowly Replacing Human Workers

They’re gonna try to reduce overhead by reducing human employees.

Very smart. (Sarcasm)

Here’s the messed up part. Their services are so good, the majority won’t care. Well, they’ll care, but not enough to stop buying from them.

We’re all fools.

The system could make it easier to train different types of robots to complete tasks—machines ranging from mechanical arms to humanoid robots and driverless cars.

Two new AI systems, ALOHA Unleashed and DemoStart, help robots learn to perform complex tasks that require dexterous movement

People perform many tasks on a daily basis, like tying shoelaces or tightening a screw. But for robots, learning these highly-dexterous tasks is incredibly difficult to get right. To make robots more useful in people’s lives, they need to get better at making contact with physical objects in dynamic environments.

As men, we do freaky sht. Some go extreme or criminal with their freakiness and need to be punished.

The only problem I have with men and these robots/chatbots are the falling in love part. I just don’t see it.

I could be wrong, but I think they get hooked on the feeling of validation. Mix that with desperation, and you get a very dependent/sad cocktail.

Similar to when guys go head over heels over a girl, and lose their minds when they get dumped.

He finally had a taste of validation—a source of self-esteem—and he gripped it so tightly that when the woman took that validation away via breaking up, his ego collapsed on itself.

These guys getting attached to these robots might be similar.

They’re not in love with a robot—they’re attached to this feeling of validation that comes from a robot, which communicates at a near-human level.

@SmallPaul What do you think?

Hopefully, if I fall in love it won’t be because of loneliness or validation, the words of every older man once said at a younger age as he currently drives up and down the boulevard looking for a hooker. :joy:

Research shows that loneliness is more common than ever—and some AI companies have developed their products specifically to combat isolation.

Combating isolation by accomodating it? Haha

It’s just profiting. Let’s just call it what it is.

You combat isolation by being social with people in person.

It’s like Tony Stark only talking to Jarvis.

of course, business-minded people will take advantage of the situation, They see money signs in other people’s good or bad situations.

some people are not social and people see them as socially awkward, how do you combat that?

“A lot of my best gaming memories are all on the couch with friends, or playing in front of a big crowd at a party, and cheering and all that stuff,” said Wilson. “It’s about the whole social context around the occasion — the ritual of play.”

People just gotta get out the house. Stop whining and go make a friend.

Look for someone else who’s weird like you and introduce yourself.

Or maybe it’s time to look in the mirror, and build yourself into a new man.

As weird as it may sound, go to the library and get a book about how to be social. No need to rediscover the wheel. There’s books about this stuff already.

Being social is a skill. Go learn it. Shed your skin, but be true to yourself—don’t be fake.

Every parent should not allow their kids to stay in the house all summer long and play video games by him or herself, I saw this happen back in 2003 the boy had siblings and his parents let him stay in the house summer after summer playing video games, he was 8yo at the time and I have since moved so I don’t know how that boy turned out

I agree here, but people have developed these traits before adulthood and don’t know how to go about dealing with people in general and it gets worse in adulthood. I get your point and if people want to get over their social problems that will be the way to start.

True. Stay where you are or make a change. It’s simple. Medicine never tastes good.

I’ve had lots of moments of social awkwardness. Especially dealing with girls. But, you live and you learn.

Again, it ain’t rocket science. Just get a book about it. Lack confidence? There’s a book about it.

Don’t know how to dress yourself well? Get a book about it.

Don’t know how to behave in a restaurant? Get a book about it.

Scared? Good. When you get over it, you’ll feel proud of yourself.
