Hello, i was just wondering if anyone traded or still trades a strategy developed by Walter Peters, i read his books and backtested some of his strategies (big shadow, kangarootail,…) and like the thought behind them. But are they really profitable? If yes, did you switch up something, or added other settings? Thanks for any replies.

I think it’s more traders who are profitable, not so much strategies?
I always found the Big Shadow (from Naked Forex, chapter 6) reliable enough, but I never really back-tested it methodically.
I guess the people who claim it’s nothing special aren’t strict enough about the criteria for which candles qualify as entries, as Dr. Peters describes. They probably just equate them with engulfing candles and expect them all to work? And I’m also not sure entries are a very significant overall component of trading, anyway.

Yeah you’re probably right about the traders who are profitable… i think i just stick to those strategies and work on my exits. But good to hear that it probably has potential. Thanks!
