If you wanted to open a swing trade off the 4 hr, is there typically a best time of day to enter, in terms of session opens and closes? Or does it not matter so much?
A swing trade is when before being place, you know you will hold it at least 24 hours and up to 5 days. So is a intraweek trade. The time of the day is not as important as the day of the week since you would want to avoid weekends.
As stated by Yunny1, a swing trade on the 4H will have you hold the trade for several hours if not days, thus making the time of day a less important factor. Now, if you want to know the most active part of the day (usually with most momentum) I would suggest from Frankfurt open (1 hour before London Open) to mid US session. This part of the day is usually the most busy and thus provide you with more momentum than for example the Asian session that tends to be a more quiet session. Frankfurt opens at 07.00 am GMT.
