Maybe I should have prefaced this with the context that this is an imaginary conversation during some good beer drinking lol. I never thought anything personal was implied. Honestly cant add enough lol or lmao or haha in a conversation when I want it to be light hearted haha. Maybe the wink was condescending idk (My forum manners are not polished).

I have read all of Gladwell’s stuff and have thoroughly enjoyed all his books. And honestly idk how old you are but your last paragraph makes me think we are awefully alike. And I make the point everyday when people put others down or hold themselves in esteem and accredit it to their ‘choices’. I always say how much choice or freedom do you actually think you have, it is so impossible to break molds of society and upbringing etc those pathetic quirks lol i like that.

What I am trying to infer is the natural underlying tendency or nature of individuals which can often be very hard to define because nurture does change us.

Just think of the physical capabilities of some. Arnold, even though on steroids, had a propensity to build muscle. Starve him and not allow for training and he would definitely be meek. I just want to understand where certain people can naturally flourish and were possible faults are.

I very much appreciate this discussion.

That reminds me of when I was in highschool. I was the geeky nerdy guy, remember him? LOL One day a guidance councelor called me to his office. He wanted to figure out what was wrong with me so he asked where I sat in each class, hoping to find some pattern. As if you could plumb the depths of a mind with such a crude instrument. Funny thing is, there was a pattern. He just wasn’t smart enough to see it. Idiot.

I’m going to take the test again. It’s fun to see the outcome. I don’t know why some of the links didn’t work for me the first time. Maybe it’s my Opera browser. But to really be accurate I would have to take it more than once and give slightly different answers each time.

I had a pattern as well…

Usually the closest seat to the exit:p

Hmm, okay okay i see. Well that’s all very nice but i’m still curious on how the kingpins will score. Or maybe this is just another damn conspiracy and psychology is the real holy grail here? That explains why they don’t have a section just for Trader Psychology!:o

Dude thats 12 charaters

This can seem rather meaningless when considering how is this going to bring in the extra pips, but I simply enjoy this because I like to understand why an action is being taken place and if it is worthy of pursuit.

One word, curiosity. It certainly would be interesting to see whether it is possible for two traders with bipolar psychology to both trade profitably and to know how drastically different mechanical and discretionary traders’ psychologies are(or not). I doubt that the profitable traders here would make a decent sample size. It’s probably best if i just google it :37:.

That’s only my sober side…

of course… once you figure out everyone’s psychology then you have to figure out which ones are actually succesful traders…

To summarize, I think psychological profiling is like digital photography. If the resolution isn’t high enough then it becomes too pixelated. But there are practical limits on resolution. Too high a resolution would require too much overhead in various resources.

yep, that’s a good one. Or next to the heater in the winter. Or next to the girl I had a crush on. LOL

That test has way to many results. Should have just said I failed. That I must actually have a brain to take the test. Now that would have made sense.

Almost by definition, the guy who is going to do really well, will just seem crazy to everyone else. If he didn’t, he wouldn’t have an edge, would he? He’d be just another guy. Examples of crazy yet successful behaviour:

“Yes I can take a piece of throwaway consumer technology like a digital music player, which makes almost nothing for anybody, and furthermore, all musicians only make 99 cents per song. My strategy: slick controls on it, extreme pricing, and, young people will not be COOL if they don’t have it.”

“Put lots of caffeine into an especially revolting mix of flavours, in the ugliest can possible and call it an Energy Drink. Ah, and, it’s blisteringly expensive.”

“Let’s make a game where grown men and women can pretend to be elves, fairies, or daemons online, for the privilege of having even more drama in their lives, and swear fealty to a ‘clan leader’ (who is actually a 14 year old kid) in what amounts to be a second job. Fifteen dollars a month!”

“Make an absolute imbecile of yourself in front of a video camera, paste the grainy video onto Youtube and humiliate yourself in front of hundreds of millions of people. Sell ad space adjacent to this little keyhole view of your personal trainwreck life. Become improbably and equally embarrassingly wealthy.”

It seems, to me, that doing something considered crazy by the vast majority of people on earth is a prerequisite to success.

Of course, once you’ve done it, it won’t be crazy any more. And there will be one thousand followers who claimed to have believed in you all along.

And the rest of us keep saying “why didn’t I think of that!”

According to the answers you gave, you are a Chief Executive Officer: born “CEO,” driven, takes charge; harnesses people to a distant goal; strategic; expressive; potential good debater and public speaker; seeks vision and purpose; political; self-focused; structured; logical abstraction skilled.

BTI Brain Type: FCIL

Jung-Myers Equivalent: ENTJ

ENTJs are among the rarest of types, accounting for about 2–5% of those who are formally tested.

ENTJ - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Well, if that doesn’t fit to the percentage of winning traders? I hope my bots are the same type, lol.

There is another one of that type, lol - an Ent:

Batman, Snoopy, Hannibal Lecter, Shrek, Harry Potter, Jack Bauer, Raskolnikov, Darth Vader, Cookie Monster,

and Wicked Wanda.

I took the test again but many questions were not accurate either way, a half and half hybrid would have been better. So I decided to lean in one direction just to be consistent. In that iteration I am BEIL / ISTJ. Reading up on that, some of it is definitely me and some of it is definitely not me. Just for kicks I read some of the others and I can see bits of me in all of them. Odds are everyone else could too.
