Can you say "corrupt"?

The University of Michigan and Thomson Reuters fail to pass the smell-test.

If you’re trying to “trade the news” using the Babypips Economic Calendar, or the Forex Factory Economic Calendar, or any other public economic data service — you need to be aware of this:

Quartz article ---- More evidence that Thomson Reuters data may be leaking out earlier than it’s meant to – Quartz

CNBC video ---- Video on NBCNews.com

This has been going on for a loooooong time. Pay to Play, pay for a Bloomie or Reuters Box and premium services, and get an edge, but no super sized drink. Here is what WSJ said, A Probe on Data Releases Is Revived - WSJ.com.

This “investigation” has been under way for a while, on and off depending on the mood of the Overlords. By the way, this all got started because of a guy named Beeks, he was last seen in the company of a male gorilla, and he was wearing a female gorilla suit.

The Ever Watchful VIPER

Even some data is solely for the purpose of selling earlybird subscriptions. You could invent the babypips traders index and try and sell subscriptions for $20 a month and hope that it has some influence on the market - if enough big players become interested then it is self fulfilling.
