Candlesticks-same for currency as stocks?

OK, this is going to sound stupid. I originally started to study candlestick patterns in an interest to start trading stocks. I have since been moved to the midnight shift at work so the ability to trade currencies 24 hours a day intrigues me. I just entered the Babypips school.

Do the candlestick patterns and indicators that I have been studying regarding stocks mean the same thing in currency trading or do I need to seek out candlestick tutorials/books specific to currency trading?

If you can’t tell, I’m new at all this :o

You’re fine. Candlesticks patterns are the same for anything where the price moves due to supply and demand.

Stocks, commodities, forex, etc all have the same candle patterns on the charts.
