Characteristics of the major pairs?

hi, i would like to know what people think are the main characteristics of the currencies being traded in forex are, volatility/choppiness, ranging or trending types of pairs etc and how this fits with your preferred trading style

sometimes they go up, sometimes they go down. eur/usd went down for a long time. on friday it went up.

sometimes they just kind of go sideways.

that’s not really what I was looking for. Currencies have characteristics in their movements and I am trying to acertain what those characteristics are but thanks for the reply anyway mrmoneybags.
