Chart and candle colours

What colours do you use? I read an article saying red is bad to look at, same as black.
Have you tried different themes. What works for you and why?

I prefer cream or yellow price-bars, on a dark grey background.

On my screen, light-coloured price-bars against a darker background are clearer and easier on the eye than dark ones against a lighter background.

(Interestingly, for “website design” I find the exact opposite. I’m close to “unwilling to read” websites that use white/pale lettering on a black/dark background, as I find those a real strain, and I know that for people using tablets/phones/small screen they can be a real nuisance and a cause of traffic-loss).

Being bit of a nature freak I like greens. Green is also supposedly a relaxing colour and often used in hospitals for that reason. So I choose various greens for the background info like the bars and the underlying trend channel, and then contrast the “action” lines (trade entry/exit ribbons) against those greens in bright “action colour” reds and blues. The background is a very pale cream, not white, which for me is too stark.

Here is my 5m EURUSD chart for today as an example. Being the last day of the month I was only trading intraday in/outs which worked just fine - even the RSI at the bottom behaved itself - which is also in bright red/blue so’s I don’t forget to look at it!

Great to have these analysis from from these sources, these has been really helpful for me as a trader.

Interesting. Thanks Manxx and Lexys.
Im going to move away from black and white and will be experimenting with different colours. Im liking orange and light blue at the moment, both neutral colours. I dont know why it took me so long but I noticed that the black solid bars were overpowering my charts making the white up bars almost invisible. Then today after changing colours, everything just seemed to balance out immediately.

Btw Lexys thanks for changing your avatar I kept trying to squash that bug on my screen :17: it caught me a few times.
