You know I am way less than convinced about the veracity of the source of the “Problem” - Certainly about the impartiality of the sources

But imagine this - how if you were to combine subsidize and innovation.
Back in the early 80’s most business systems were manual - some were cutting edge, I remember being fascinated by a large machine into which the operator places a huge card, and out came account statements - the whole operation took days.
I was researching PC’s, one advert caught my eye, it was an image of a sheep and said 'you dont have to follow IBM.
The UK govt had a subsidy - spend the money on expert advice on making your business computerized and we will fund that advice.
The market of competition/innovation did the rest.

I think you miss the burden of the argument here @peterma. The point is that “Tax and subsidise” is WAY too expensive and completely cost ineffective.
Whereas innovate (and Fund the innovation modestly) is Going to be just as quick, effective and Way more cost effective - allowing the world to get along with resolvng the REAL problems in parallel.
I would suggest as well, that the process is now so far underway that the world (Sorry - Not “the world” - just the leftist anti-capitalist parts of it ) seems to have decided to abandon effective fuels and turn to etherial Carbon Free methods of Generation of Electricity.
That being the case one wonders why we still need whole flocks of “Scientists” and Political committees subsidised to continue telling us how dreadful we are ? - Surely if we have decided to go down this path - we don’t need any of them any more ?
It should perhaps be noted as well that the Old Communist Blocks China and Russia are having none of it - I expect they find the whole thing hugely amusing !

and back to the original question is climate change a Hoax, the “Hoax” is in the solution. Massive new taxes aimed mostly at what is left of the Middle Class. This is not about some how changing the environment. It is simply a money grab. A carbon tax would then make carbon a tradable asset that would make a new wealth creating commodity controlled by the already wealthy. We have already seen this done in France, that is what the whole Yellow Vest movement is about. People are getting wise to the fact this is just a money making scam and we in the middle class are being scammed. I fully support the Yellow Vest and every other group who opposes the Al Gore’s of the world

I absolutely agree with that. Nothing more than that. All those meetings and protests around the globe are organised by somebody else with intentions which are not thinking about our nature or climat. There is something else, don’t call me conspiracy theorist;)

Actually, the Yellow Vests do want to fight unfair taxation. But where is the evidence they reject global warming?
Sometimes politicians apply the wrong solution to a problem. But that doesn’t mean the problem wasn’t real.

I don’t know about the politics involved but global warming is a real thing. I don’t need to see the stats for it. You can just feel it. You can see that the timing of the weathers have been disturbed. So, calling global warming a hoax is foolish. The agreements may be politicised but the topic is real.

In many cases, this is true - many of the environmental / anti-global warming protesters are also pro-socialism, pro-communism, anti-capitalist and anti-globalisation. Their reasoning is that global warming is caused by multi-national global firms in bed with international finance and western governments that have taken advantage of international capitalism, and that these are inherently elitist and corrupt. Many wish to see capitalism on this scale either cut back or eliminated in favour of socialist structures.
Many are no doubt riding on the back of global warming to secure their wider objectives. Even if we have the most serious existential problem facing mankind and the whole planet’s ecology, that is no reason to let socialists ever ever get into power.

Lots of people are like that - No logic - just “everybody says so” or " It’s obvious" - Confirmation Bias - only considers so called evidence which tends to confirm their point of view - Not contrary evidence.
