Consistently Profitable Traders?

Poll is anonymous, and Please only people who have been into forex for at least 6 months or more

I’ve noticed one thing about a lot of systems and traders here on babypips, and it has led me to ask a few questions.

What I’ve noticed first of all is that a lot of systems and traders are/using mechanical systems. Maybe its just me and I haven’t looked at enough threads, or maybe every time I click on new posts by some odd chance there are predominantly more threads to do with EA’s and systems that are “okay when this indicator moves like this, buy/sell”. The way I trade is slightly odd but it grew out of a methodology I found here on babypips. I don’t use many indicators on my charts and if someone asked me to run through what my “system” is, I’d have a hard time really pinning it down. Mainly due to the fact that it changes depending on when I’m trading, and not to say I have a certain system for one time of day or time frame and another for another. It’s more because I have a set of rules, taken from the “What really turned around my trading” thread, for making a system and as such my system will take many different things into account. The thing that makes it odd at least when I compare it to most systems I see posted is that I don’t have hard set rules or indicators for the things I take into account. The way I trade has actually come out of TONS and TONS of hours watching charts, news, and statistics. Its become slightly intuitive.

Regardless what I want to ask the babypips community is really two things;

Firstly, have you noticed a lot of systems are really mechanical (and I say this in the loosest of terms) and what kind of system do you use?

Secondly, Are you consistently profitable? (at least 6 months of consistent profits, though preferably a year)

Please vote in the poll as I’d like to hear from as many people as possible. The second question is the one that interests me the most.

To start it off, yes I am consistently profitable, though only for about 4 months on live account (since mid may)
