I downloaded historical COT data but the categories it’s divided are not non-commercial, commercial, etc. Anyone know how to derive this data from the various categories this data comes in?
Look for the Larry Williams book on how to read the COT report. It is the best explanation I have found. There are also services on the internet that provide graphs of the data that are easier to understand. Basically, you are looking for instances when the commercials and the non-commercials are on completely opposite sides and you want to go in the direction of the commercials.
