Currency historical rates

Hello there.

I tried hard to find a reliable source for currency historical rate data with OPEN HIGH LOW AND CLOSE for each day. So far, I have found one in fxstreet (hopefully the moderator won’t take it as an ad) and that’s it. I know oanda has an extensive data for historical rates but they do not offer OHLC of the each day but an average which in my case is useless.

I also found some other sites that has ‘punch your date’ on every single day basis to find out the data but not as good as fxstreet. Of course I just could pay some bucks to buy really reliable data from those who sell datas back to 10 years ago but am trying save money as much as I can.

So please if you have any suggestion or know any website somewhere I would thank you very much in advance.

The other question that I have is also about the currency historical data.

How do the forex related companie get their daily averages (or weekly or monthly, etc) of a currency pair?

I know it sounds pretty newbie but when I think about the market that moves (fluctuates) constantly every second, how is possible to get the average? Based on every second rate or every 1 minute rate or every hour?

And I also noticed on the historical data provided by fxstreet that shows closing rate at, say, 1.0000, then next day’s opening rate is suddenly 1.0100

Which came to my mind that the data isn’t that reliable or perhaps, the nuclear bomb size new came out every other day at the same time for about a month or so.

Well. I know my nick name is one timer questioner but will come back as much as I can. Love the site though.

See you around and happy trading
