This is from this site. If you think that the Japanese government is going to weaken the yen in order to help its export industry, you would execute a BUY USD/JPY order. THis is from this site. I think this is backwards. Wouln’t this be a sell here? Sell JPY/USD. We want the yen to continue to lower and we make money on the difference.
Here it is again, “If you believe that Japanese investors are pulling money out of U.S. financial markets and converting all their U.S. dollars back to yen, and this will hurt the U.S. dollar, you would execute a SELL USD/JPY order.” NOw here we would do a buy. jpy/usd.
Buying USD/JPY is the same thing as selling JPY/USD, don’t confuse yourself. The dollar/yen pair is always written as USD/JPY and not the other way round. When you buy the base currency you simultaneously sell the quote currency and vice versa.
So the yen goes up in value after i do a buy. It’s more valuable. The dollar is weaker right. More dollars are required to buy yen.
In today’s market the euro went up in value a lot. Gold is now 5 dollars more, the dollar is worth less today than yesterday. A fact. I believe this is due to impeachment news.
