Hi, complete beginner here, so I opened a [comment removed] trading Demo account 2 days ago. After making a few mistakes I reset my account yesterday morning to the starting balance of 10 000 euros. since then I have traded my account value up to around 17 000 euros. so approximately a 70% gain. These returns seem ridiculous and I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on what I could potentially be overlooking etc. So far I have had effectively no losing trades because i hold my trade until its profitable then sell for a small to reasonable profit, ranging from around 5 - 120 euros. Any thoughts would be much appreciated thanks!
Thoughts yes. Will I share - no.
Just keep trading this way bro, you’ll figure it out before end of year where you’ve gone wrong.
They’re from 212Trading, @_bob.
Regular pattern of behaviour, here.
They join a trading forum and immediately post this, saying they opened a demo account at 212Trading and made a big profit on it.
I’ve seen it in loads of trading forums. The others all delete it and kick these idiots out, of course. Babypips doesn’t, because it has its “process” to work through. LOL!!
They’re either 212Trading employees or being paid to do this.
That firm also pays people to open trading forum accounts and display a “212Trading” avatar.
I’ve seen their recruitment ads, myself, looking for people to do this.
In other words, it’s just a type of spam/PR.
But you try convincing Babypips moderators of that. I’m having correspondence with Nica about another similar incident here, and they just don’t listen. They don’t really want to know. And that’s why the forum fills up with this rubbish.
I’ll probably stop bothering at all, soon, and join the ever-growing throng complaining about this site elsewhere, instead. It’s amazing, what goes on here.
@luke6r4
Such results do mean nothing. Even if you double your account within a day it does mean nothing because with such trading you can easily wipe the account within a day as well.
So from the small amount of info you have provided I assume you are overtrading your account
Right, and well spotted.
The tell-tale signs are that they’ve always joined the forum just before their first post, and that the first post always specifies the name of the broker although that has nothing to do with the question allegedly being asked.
To a moderator who’s seen another trading forum, or knows the industry, or understands trading and brokerages, obviously it’s all a red flag and a pattern to recognise.
Unfortunately, we don’t have any of those, here. Which is - as you say - why the forum fills up with this garbage.
The thing that’s harder to understand is the reluctance to remove it even after it’s been brought to their attention. I suppose they just don’t care?
