Desk top trader v MetaTrader

Hi ,I have been using desktop trader from fxcm as my platform ,I find it uncomplicated but I notice many traders using MetaTrader. Is there something I am missing out on?

Hi Chip,

One of the perks of metatrader is a vast library of Indicators available online, a large supoprt community and you can dive into Meta Editor to program your own indicators.

That’s not to say that each brokers own platform isn’t just as good

Well I use MT4 exactly due to a lot of indicators, experts atc. available. However I really dislike MT5 as there are some limitiations, I think that MT5 wasn´t a good decision of MetaQuotes.

I have been using MT4 for years. I find it easier to customize. If you have programming experience, you may build and customise your own expert trader (EA) the crowd support and user for MT4 is so much greater than desktop trader.

If you’re not using much of the indicators and have an approach to trading that is fully suited to fxcm’s platform, stick with fxpm’s platform as MT4 can have a lot of limitations especially in terms of the memory.

I think so, Mt4 is much flexible to use! As an EA trader, I also prefer to use Mt4 trading platform! But I tested almost all of trading platforms including Mt5!
