Did Oanda Just Hunt My Stop Loss?

Oanda makes money off fees. When you lose, it doesn’t affect them, and when you win, it doesn’t affect them, because they hedge against client positions before even opening them for you.

Oanda makes money off profitable traders, because they pay more in fees.

Yes they did and they do hunt stops

If a trader leaves a stop where it can be hit by a widened spread, they will get “hunted” every day of the week.

It was once pointed out in a Youtube clip by the CEO of a spreadbetting firm in the UK - where stop-hunting is illegal - that brokers don’t hunt stops because there isn’t any way of keeping it secret - from their employees. He wasn’t making the point that brokers are fine upstanding specimens of corporate moral rectitude, he was saying that they knew they could not get away with it.
