This may be a silly question but I cant seem to find the answer anywhere. Im looking at the daily chart for Eur/Gbp and the candle for May/04 on oandas chart shows a decent sized bull candle while the candle on the same day on my MT4 chart(feed from ODL securities) shows a doji. Two completely different candles for the same day. For people that use MT4 solely for charting purposes, have you come accross such diffenrences between your brokers charts and your MT4 charts?
Yes i have noticed this before, i have 2 demo accounts one with IBFX and one with Alpari, there candles do vary in shape, because there candles start and end times are different. I don’t think there is a rule that says all brokers candles must start or end at this time.
I wish it was more unified between brokers, but i don’t think that will happen.
Hmm but would the time differences be big enough to produce two completely different candles? Like the one im looking at, one is a doji and the other is a bull candle.
Oanda’a daily candle is changed at 0500 GMT, North Finance’s
daily candle changes at 2200 GMT, that’s -7 hrs difference, now
take a look at the 1 hr candles & see the movement in the charts.
A lot can happen in 1 hr let alone 7 hrs.
