My account didn’t do to great this past month. Some of it was bad luck and some of it was my broker (charged me spread plus commision on my trades).
I am working to become a professional day trader so I can leave Iraq and get back to my family and still make a decent living. I am looking for a few things now and was wondering if anyone could help.
First I am looking for a mentor, someone to trade with me and point out things that I may not see. I would like someone who has been trading for a living for a while and has had decent success.
I am also looking for a new broker, one without a dealing desk, very tight fixed spread or no fixed spreads at all (comission based). Someone who has excellent charting software and above all a broker who will not trade against me.
If anyone is interested in mentoring me (I learn quickly and have been trading stocks successfully for a while now) just PM me. If someone has a broker they reccommend, please type the business name(not the link) here and I will look them up.
as daedalus said, there’s great reading material here in these forums. If you can’t find a mentor, read, read, read everything you can find, it’s almost as good as having a mentor.
You don’t even have to spend money on books and courses, you can read this forum’s archives like i’ve been doing, there’s GREAT material in it.
I have read alot of the forumn, and I do mean ALOT. Do not get me wrong the material here is great. But I am more of a hands on learner. I have had an EFX demo for a few days now, the only thing I do not like is a lack of charts. I am getting around that by using a MT4 demo account that doesn’t expire for my market analysis. I am looking at EFX, MBT, or IBT as my broker.
I would still like a mentor I can chat with as the trading day progresses. I would even be willing to pay if it were to come to that. But I need someone who does it professionally. I have talked with TheRumpledOne a few times and he seems to be a busy man. I would like a mentor or “coach” if you will, to whom I can communicate with in real time, and who is a successful daytrader.
Thank you daedalus, however I am not naive. I am not expecting a flock of pros to come PMing me eager to make me their apprentice. I am only looking for one, and I won’t get them unless I ask.
I am not trying to be rude, I am just letting you know I understand that the chances are slim.
I have been learning Forex trading on my own for a year on Interbank FX, it has one of the best platform out of four others that I’ve tried. I am able to point out where the market will hit, with the indicators I’ve been watching, but I do not have the discipline to stick with my plan as I have always been struggling to be patient (throughout my entire life; my worst weakness). I’m offering to show you what I’ve learned and in return just need someone to help me to be disciplined.
Just today, I was thinking about having a mentor, not necessarily for him to give me his secret as I have my own strategies and plans that I do believe work. I just need someone who has experience and to listen and to confirm my analyses. Therefore, I am here also searching for a mentor, or perhaps a trading buddies for support.

I tried to idle the chat room here with little success, as I had to keep the webpage opened. This will alert other members of the group when someone else is chatting. If your curious you should try it, as you can always delete it if it doesn’t suit you.

I tried to register with paltalk and it said “invalid country”. I believe this is because I am deployed in Iraq. If that is the case I am sure there are other countries who can not use it also. My goal is to let everyone chat, and the messenger keeps a history, so someone can ask a question and it can be answered by anyone. Kinda like a forumn but streaming I suppose.
Thanks for the invitation to the group chat. But I’m having difficulty with MSN, did download the program and it kept restarting my computer whenever I tried to login because there’s error about old version (7.0). Too much confusion with MSN…is their new version Window Live Messenger? Anyway, I am in TRO’s chatroom on PaltalkScene.
Yes it is windows live messenger now. I had a brain foart and completley forgot they changed the name of the platform. The cool thing about this is, when someone types everyone can see it. And when someone doesn’t want messages to come up, then the just hit the block button. It is like being in a group call all the time.
