Read the book “New Marker Wizards” and you’ll see traders who are REALLY addicted to the markets… There’s this one guy who had quotes and news showing all over his house… Even the bathroom! Keeps him up-to-date even has he takes a piss!
… And yes, I hate weekends too
For this reason, I don’t think I can trade stocks too… 8 hours is not enough for me!!
I havent turned on my XBOX in over a month since I began researching/experimenting with FOREX. It is completely captivating/fascinating… I can see how rooted your obsession can be
mmmm…an electronic board that displays all the pairs quotes in real time, could have one on every wall, lol anyone any ideas where i could get hold of a few?
Your full time job? how long have you been doing it? how sucesful are you at it?
I’m just getting started but know what you mean about being adicted. I spend most of my evenings studying and practicing. Wish I could trade the London/NYC sessions but have a day job that makes it hard to do.
Have a day of vacation next week and I’ll spend it trading the london/NYc sessions, Looking forward to that !
lol forgive my stupidness but…whats R&R? risk : reward ratio lol?
and talond, i have been trading full time since late february just after my son was born, i started studying forex just over 2 years ago now and opened my first live account as soon as i was old enough…which was only last november lol, firstly i blew 2 small account in about a month then had a few weeks break, started another small account just after new years day and began to grow that steadily over a month and a half then dived straight in with a larger amount and have been trading full time ever since
im about to do something you seldom see here on the forums, i am actually going to tell you figures, i dont see the harm and it may be good motivation for some…
i started with 400, made just over a 400% gain within my first month bringing my balance to 2000 ( yes i risked up to 40% of my capital on trades during this time! )
took a huge drawdown bringing my floating balance to around 800 but thank god it went back in my favour and finished with just over 2k again, form this point i became very disciplined with my money management and began risking no more than 4% on any one trade and using a R:R of atleast 2:1 on my swing trades and 1:1.5 on my scalps
then i moved out with my son and girlfriend and began using my weekly profits which were usually around 20% to pay the rent and bills which meant my trading account hasnt grown to much over the previous months but it has been growing steadily as well as still allowing me to live rather comfortably at the moment as our living costs are not too much at the moment
so in summary, i have managed to trade successfully for 6 months although i am not yet rich lol but it gives me alot of freedom and there is still huge financial potential over the coming years, by far the best decision of my rather short life so far
