would like to hear your trading strategy, to help a fellow newbie. I haven’t been at it for very long either, I’ve had a small real money account for only a couple weeks. Do you have some special strategy? or just the standard stuff support & resistance, candles trend lines etc?
I’ve had lots of good advice from a long time pro trader but I still need a lot of practice to get good at it.
Only problem with it is that it won’t seem to allow orders on jpy pairs, and if you use an indicator that’s getting info from another timeframe than the one your running it on, it won’t update.
Did I mention it only runs on MT4’s strategy tester?..If you don’t have it, it’s easy enough to get a demo to try it out on.
Do any of you do any mobile trading? if so what phones do you use?
whatever you do, don’t get a blackberry they suck!!!
I really mean that they suck so bad. for being a leader in business technology they don’t even have one decent realtime chart app. Not one and if you look really hard for a long time you will find the only two out there suck so bad and are not worth the time.
My advice if you are going to use your phone go with a mobile based operating system and trade with mt4 mobil
Iam surprised the capital in which people start trading for a living.I live California where half the capital your using would be rent income area around here.If i would stay in this area i would have too have over 10 thousand capital usd to maintain normal standard of living around here.People who retire in this state over 50 percent move to another area.I guess if my dream ever comes true, i will have to think about packing my bags.
And thanks for sharing the story of your success. Its exciting to hear what youve been able to accomplish. You deserve a big pat on the back. Keep up the good trading!!!

Thanks for posting Profitforextrader. I opened a live account back in February because the demo accounts don’t really teach me anything. I started with $250 won about sixty percent of my trades. Unfortunately after getting up to $612 in three weeks, I had some big losers and my account was at $49 three weeks later. Glad to see someone making money with Forex.
As far as mobile trading, I still have a demo account with MetaTrader that I use on my ATT Tilt(Kaiser)
Well, just my opinion. If you feel good on your addiction and it doesn’t hurt anybody, then continue. I am probably internet addicted, as I carry my small netbook around all the time, lol. Though, I guess in the old times when newspapers came out and people red it every morning they also were called addicts. Plus I am truck addicted, as I drive often with trucks. Plus I am food addicted, because I eat very often. Twice a day or more!
Lol, that addiction I carry also around. I am an internet-food-truck-girl-music-junkie. Probably my addiction is in a further stage, as I forgot some other addictions to mention here.
LOL I saw this thread and remembered the time I was thinking of posting this too…then I didn’t want to admit it to others HAHA!
Every chance I get I’m looking at the charts and I think I’ve found what I want to do as a full-time profession! I’m live trading now too but after a bad start, I’ve buckled down and am slowly growing the account.
I plan to grow the account on a compound interest like formula. If all goes well, I hope to be full time by the end of this year starting from $100. Instead of pulling money out though I’d like to keep it compounding and when I’m done school… oh boy I can see it now! haha.
I would be looking at charts all night, just looking at them, nothing really going on, and certain not in a short enough time frame to see any price action that I could get in on.
I would shut off MT4 only to open it back up a few minutes later…ofcourse there wasn’t much new to see!
I think it was just this rush, this urgency, the feeling that I was going to miss out on a big trade, something that could bump up my equity. I didn’t want to miss out. Even if it was a demo account!
Yes and the weekends were painful. It’s like someone took off the video game and I had to wait for two days before I could play again.
I think in the beginning, every newbie has this rush to make money. It seems like it’s just a few trades away. The bars go up, they go down! The more you miss out, the more attention you give to it.
Luckily for me this went away just recently. Reasons:
I realized that there will always be trade opportunities.
With a micro account I’m not going to make a huge amount of money, or lose it, in one trade, reward to time input ratio is very low if I spend all my time watching the charts.
I trade on 4hr and daily charts now, so price action takes a while, so I can relax.
I think once you establish a trading system, and become comfortable trading, and comfortable with the price action it will go away.
