I have joined babypips for some time but never knew where to start this post. All I wanted was to dive into the “How” to trade. Every time when I read of a new posting on “Introduce Yourself” in my email, I am frustrated for not being able to locate the right place or click on the right dialogue box to type. Finally found the place to do it!
I have been on demo account and small live accounts over many years. I have tried learning from different sources. In between, I gave up and then came back again. Really wanted to learn to trade and be a profitable trader, that’s why I am still here. Still, have not given up! Ha Ha …
I will give myself a little more time to see if it works for me.
I have found this website well organised especially on the School of Pipsology. Full of information, which is a great improvement over the previous version.
Keep learning and don’t give up, care to share what made you give up in earlier times? what was your dark area in trading? Good to know you are back to trading.
Sure.
I was on demo and initially I did very well. I thought trading is so easy (I was riding a trend) and my SL was huge. However CHF suddenly crashed, I lost quite a bit (though demo account) I lost interest and stopped.
I tried again after learning from different sources. Some say demo trade first until you become profitable. Others say demo is different from live trading. You have to be in the water to really learn how to swim. So I tried live accounts shortly after I go back into demo. I almost blow my account after a while. I stopped again. So this repeated another round.
THAT’S THE SPIRIT! Haha. Welcome welcooooome @Feminin! I’m so happy to have more people here. I hope we could really help each other grow and good luck with your trading! You can do it!!!
I have to agree with this. However that doesn’t mean you need to practice harder in demo because our mentality in demo trading is completely far from trading live.
After trading one month demo, I was a poor performer in live despite the fact I performed well in demo. It as I didn’t learn anything in demo except knowing how to use stuffs in platform. You have to get into real water (live account) to learn better, and yes, you did right but was not ready to go slow. Take small/cent account, be patient with small size, don’t let winning trades force you to jump higher (lots). Side by side, learn the price action, set a SL in a way you’re mentally prepared to lose. About me? That’s what I’ve learned this all the journey. I’m still not perfect but must say much, quite better than before, that’s what experience does.
Okay, that’s sound like some introduction really. What do you really mean ? Were you able to make any profits out there for something like few thousands at least ? Share something more in details beside that post you created, I think you have some perspective.
