Floored Movie

Not trying to sell this movie but it has some very good lessons in the free episodes for traders. Not specifically about currency trading (only mentioned twice) but great for traders in general. Shows where high adrenaline trading can get you.

It makes me laugh how all these pit traders complain about how trading has become electronic and its ruined trading and how us ‘little kids’ who grew up with computer games take it for granted that we ‘immediately’ understand the electronic trading platform. I could take any of my friends who are competent with computers and i’m pretty confident if i put them in front of a say mt4 theyd be baffled just as much as anyone born in the 50’s and 60’s.

People that fail in any profession, are the ones that always expect things to stay the same, and the ones that arent prepared to adapt to new environments and accept that change is inevitable.

I heard one quote saying that ‘the computer is a disease, its killed the pits’ or something along those lines. How can increased efficiency be a disease? Ok the pits may be dying, but isnt the number priority here meant to be your percent profit, not your adrenaline hit? I know which one i prefer. Anyway, thats my inexperienced opinion. Still not finished watching it all yet.

Just use this

Exactly what I was thinking! One guy mentioned that traders have a lot of vices but neglected to mention that trading was one of them. Trading was a drug for these guys which is why they failed. The ones who saw it as a business and adapted were the ones who succeeded in the computer age even though the transition was unpleasant or difficult. I understand the desire for excitement and all that but find it in an area that won’t cost your ability to meet your obligations (house, family, etc).

The images of the guys on there will haunt me every time I start to get carried away.

Haha yea the guy who was heavily intoxicated boasting about sleeping with a playmate. He looked like he’d done very well for himself but at the price of alcoholism and who knows what else! SIGN ME UP! just kidding  … i think
