Forex robots?

HI

New to forex and i have so many questions i dont know where to start but i suppose the biggest question is do people actually use robots like FAP and others and do they work ?

How difficult are they to set up ?

Do they work on the smalller mini account £/$200 for trading to start with before i move up to a larger account…

Any other info would also be appreciated

Cheers

The commercial forex robots do not work!! The only real use for a robot is to help you trade a strategy that you’re already successfully trading manually. It is a tool, not a replacement for a human being.

You’d be much better off learning to trade yourself than buying a robot. It takes a little bit of time, but it’s not that hard.

If you really, really want to try them out anyway, just do a Google search and try out some of the free ones. That’s what I did when I started…

A lot of new people are looking into these options it seems and personally, I say take the time to learn to trade and you can do it yourself.

Looking at some charts maybe once or twice a week is not too hard and if you have your knowledge right, you could be placing trades in the high profit pip range trading daily or weekly charts.

Take for example a robot I’ve been following but not purchased Forex Megadroid. It’ll take a low volume of trades; maybe 1 or 2 a week as I’ve seen. Now each of those trades pull in a couple pips, sometimes close to 20 maybe more. Now when you really look at the day to day movements, could you not do the same?

Yes you’d be looking at charts, maybe just focus on one pair, focus on making even 30 pips a week and see how it goes? I don’t like the robot idea UNLESS I really just had some money lying around and would rather just leave it to ‘potentially’ grow for me to use in FX live trading later.

I played around with fapturbo some, it scalps the Asian session. It has a large stop loss, something like 500 pips and small take profit something round 10 pips. Not a good ratio. It does win a lot of trades but only one loss will wipe out a lot of those wins.
I tried it out on a $50,000 demo account. And in one big loss it lost $16,000 I’ll admit I had it on the more risky settings. You could set it up to trade more conservatively but I wouldn’t use it on a real account.

don’t have any experience with any other commercial EAs

I have searched for the free ones befopre but never found anything i could use…do you have any links to a geed free one ?

I don’t have any links to specific ones, but if you want to try a lot of them out then Index of /_MT4_Experts will keep you busy for a while…

OMG how many … which ones work … no wait i bet you dont know

They all work.

but which ones are profitable?

Here’s an idea for a good EA. I even tried it with some limited success. Take an ordinary EA that steadily looses money with a nice steady downward slope of the equity graph… then reverse the logic in it.

I’ll take a stab at it and say anyone that actually released a working EA with steady profit would charge a hefty some for it. Even the ones that don’t work so well you pay good money for :stuck_out_tongue:

Good things always come with greater price. If your are a newbies, better trade it manually first and learn from it. Gain the experience and you will find out which forex robot more suitable for your trading style:D

I read from some online article claiming that large institutional traders also use EA to execute “high frequency” trades against other traders. Any proof on this?
