Nearly all scalping EA’s have poor RR ratios and they seem to work on the basis of many small wins with hopefully very few large losses giving a net profit. Some seem to work well for a while and then cease to work as market conditions change. Most give you a two month trial.
I can’t believe that people fall for such crap. Then again, it takes a lot of people to make up those 95% that fail. The people who buy these sorts of things no doubt constitute part of the 95%.
Not sure what you mean by pm. Also make sure that the sub boxes under Allow live trading (Ask Manual confirmation) and Allow DLL Imports (Confirm DLL function calls) are NOT ticked. Check this on the General tab of the properties box for the EA (click on the EA to bring up the properties box) and also by going to Tools-Options (Expert advisoes). I expect you know all this anyway but I state it here just in case you don’t
I think a lot of people try them (myself included) because you don’t have to sit watching your computer every few minutes and if you have a VPS service you can switch the computer off. Very good EA’s seem few and far between. I have tried a number for the reasons given and have made very good profits only to see these wiped out later. The big danger is that some open too many positions in quick succession and can wipe out your account while you go for a cup of tea.
One of the very best semi auto signal generators I have seen is Forex Rebellion and this comes with about 40 videos illustrating the set up and use as well as live trades. This is not a ‘black Box’ system as all indicators are explained. Excellent value and can be used in the UK in conjunction with with a spread betting platform for tax free gains.
