Former Bank Trader Looking for Help Please

So here is the situation.
I used to trade at a mid-size bank and with everything thats going on i took the option to get out when it was offered. I am now day trading but the big problem for me is a lack of info. I was so used to our broker boxes for so long that i did not realise how much i would miss them. As my risk profile is now reduced (i don’t want the headache of overnight positions anymore) i need a cost effective news service to keep me in the loop. I miss my Bloomberg!
Any thoughts anyone?

Trade The News - Live Audio Breaking News Analysis and Futures Calls

im not sure if they will be fast enough or good enough for you especialy after bloomburg but they are worth checking out.

Im glad you came here I hope you stick around and share some ideas and stuff. I look foward to future posts

Thanks. I posted on another forum and checked with some an FX broker i used to use in London and he suggested Ransquawk. Have you heard of it?

Oanda has the most complete news of any broker I have ever checked out. Their demo is nonending as long as you place a demo trade once a week or so. I don’t know if that is what you are looking for but they several sources feeding into the pages. But it is not a streaming ticker style.

ransquawk is real time news and analysis and right up there with the best — if you choose “text only” the price is reasonably moderate for what you get, and FASTER than listening to some commentator when all you really want is the news flash ! (of course, if you like the “commentary”, you can spend more per month !)

you will find that most of the information you seek will not be readily available on this site(ultra fast scalps -=- except from a very select few) as this is mostly a “teaching” site and starts at kindergarten.

News trading, of the type you are used to, is a tad above “most” of even the best traders on this site as you are simply used to reacting milli seconds faster than most here and with perhaps a shade more aggression, although collectively, the good traders here do quite well !

what would be of interest to many is your “pro” approach to scalping, which could be very good for many “graduates” here ---- i run a NYS registered financial corporation and have tried to show what can be learned “after you go to college and get out in the real world”, and with your capabilities, you could be a welcome addition to the “teaching” staff discussing YOUR side of the ledger !

You could consider a thread of your own, where you could impart well earned information to some of our newbs, assuming you could find the time — its what a number of “pros” are doing here and is solidly appreciated !

enjoy and trade well
