Alright, this is a call to form a team of traders who are ready and willing to commit to becoming successful. Committing to this cause means completely disregarding the option of failure or quitting. The only kind of people this group needs is people who are entirely immovable in their determination to become successful FX traders, making no excuses for not achieving that goal.
I have lately been doing a lot of introspection and learning ways to foster success and overcome challenges. Let’s be honest, FX trading is a MASSIVE challenge! I have learnt that the best manner to tackle such a challenge is to develop a team who can work collectively to achieve the goal of becoming successful traders. Yes, I am fully aware that most people would consider trading to be a solo venture, but I cannot see any harm in developing off of the strengths of others and considering a variety of views instead of just one, being my own.
Let it be made clear that this group’s sole purpose is for us to develop a team that combines the strengths of various traders into one seamless machine that finds creative ways to trade the market and to ultimately make a success of our trading careers. There is no intention to merely provide signals that everyone follows blindly. Everyone would be expected to bring some knowledge to the table, to commit to providing analysis and commentary on other’s analysis.
I personally am a follower of ICT and make use of his methods in my trading. That does not in any way preclude traders who have other skillsets from joining this group. As already mentioned, the whole point is to combine various strengths into one team to find areas of synergistic thinking that will lead us to effective decisions in our trading. It would therefore be of great value if we could get independent thinkers into this group – traders who are creative in their analysis of the market.
Unfortunately, this group will not be of any use to someone who hasn’t got a basic understanding of the markets. The intention is to build upon each other’s knowledge.
The team will be of whatever size is considered sufficient to achieve the solitary goal of success.
We will communicate via BabyPips, Skype and email. Essentially, we would look at the market over weekends, concluding on our analysis, then during the week we would update each evening (during Asian session I mean) to identify key levels for the next day.
So is anyone interested and willing to commit? Remember, this is a serious commitment - please consider your intentions before voicing interest.
Nice attempt. It will be beneficial for traders to come in a group and share ideas.
I am interested if accepted !!!
I am basically a trend line trader and my return for the month of October 2012 was 29.89% by risking 2-3% per trade and without risking on more than two trades at a time. You can see my performance in (post # 249 of my thread Bijoy’s Trading set ups) babypips forum itself.
Anyhow, it is a good attempt. Waiting to commence such an activity.
The group is open for anyone to join, but like I said, the size and composition of the team depends entirely on what kind of people join. If someone has no trading experience or understanding of markets to bring to the table, then it’s unlikely that their intention for joining is anything other than for their own gain. I won’t decide on whether a trader can join or not, but if it’s clear that someone is not contributing to our collective success, then they’d be politely asked to leave.
Some of the expected results of the team collaboration is to identify longer term trends, key levels and decisive entry points for various currencies. There can’t be success without also focusing heavily on the psychological aspect of trading, so as a team we would provide support and advice for each other in this sphere.
The manner of trading would be up to an individual’s preference, i.e. holding long term positions or simply day-trading, but the team would provide the framework within which these trades can take place. The point of the team is not to alter our trading styles into one generic method, but rather to combine the strengths of each into a clear view of what is likely to occur in the future.
My timezone is GMT+2, so I get to trade basically all the different sessions, except for the mid Asian session.
Thanks for joining guys. We will get going this weekend since I’m keen to get started no matter how few of us there are. The sooner we start, the sooner we climb those rungs towards success!
Do you have skype? We will also use a separate site to discuss our analysis, just not sure what to use at the moment. Suggestions?
I just signed up to join. I contribute where I can but have typically stayed in the background and observe/work through things on my own till I feel I can be an asset to others.
I also have learned mostly through ICT’s teachings but always look to what can add to my toolkit. One thing I intend to start is a spreadsheet/document that I’d update for myself weekly that analyzes ~20 areas. I’d document and save each week’s for my own records. I’d love the opinion of others to ensure we’re in agreement on those items and to make sure I’m seeing what I think I am seeing. So, I dont have the trading experiences but I hope that would at least be of value to those in the group.
I’ll be checking in here to see how this is going to proceed and take it from there.
Also, just to play around, I created a Team SFS Google+ Page. There can be multiple managers of the page and I think you can control access and people can post to it. I’ve never used the service before so it’s completely new to me. That might be an option as I just created it to see what was possible.
It will be helpfull if someone batten down oune of your feet with a heavy hammer with no warning and someone else to remind you that trading is even more painful.
I think, it is better to start new discussions in the group with trade ideas. Let the ideas be solid or worst. But a live discussion on that idea, discussion on that pair, discussions on the currencies in the pair, discussions on economy of countries involved in that pair, discussion on fundamentals that may control the future movement of that pair etc… can help a member to have a valuable analysis on that trade idea. So that anybody can evaluate the feasibility of that trade and… after all… we are all for some good trades !!!
I have been trading for the past 2 years, still working on consistency. My style consists of basic top down analysis and price action (price action is limited to smaller time frames). Basically a career in trading is the only thing I can see myself doing, and due to my geographic location finding other traders to network with and bounce ideas off has been a challenge. I very much look forward to getting to know all of you and your trading styles!
I have never used those pages before so its going to be a learning process if we end up doing it unless someone else is familiar. I can add everyone who joins as a manager who can change things around as well but I’d need email addresses if we end up going in that direction.
Just to elaborate on one of the values to be upheld by this team.
Something I have come to realise and something that is often completely overlooked by most traders is that it takes creativity and independent thinking to become successful in this business. Yes, you are probably asking how independent thinking and team thinking can go together… Firstly, it is no secret that creativity flourishes in an environment where people are challenging each other to come up with new ideas or methods of thinking. That is one of the aims of the team.
Secondly, as I have said before, this team’s intention is not to simply arrive at one general style of trading that we all follow, but rather to blend various styles into something unique, something independent of what currently exists in most traders’ arsenals.
Let’s strive to be creative. We will not be successful following someone else’s method. If it was that simple, 95% of traders would be successful and 5% would fail, not the other way around.
Thank you for your interest in this group, and I hope each of you understands what the team’s objectives are now. The team’s site is: It’s time to start winning!
I have added 5 of you to this edit the site, I think the two I haven’t are MrGone and vancity. Please post any analysis or discussions on this site, feel free to create new pages wherever you want - the site is not mine, it’s ours.
Can I just ask three things please:
Please let me know if you can access and edit the site
Please consider whether you are willing to commit to being a member of this endeavor. If you don’t have the time or the motivation, please rather let me know. I NEED people who are ready to engage and share their views. The group is about collaboration at the end of the day.
Please create a skype account, or else let me know what your skype name is. This would be the means for discussing trade setups during trading hours, because we need to be quick when the market presents us with opportunities
