Well it did have to take a 4+ week boat ride before George got it.
I bet there was something in his diary around mid-August!!
Haha and now we have Twitter, so nowadays King George would have known it before it happened more or less
“The true meaning of America, you ask?
It's in a Texas rodeo, in a policeman's badge,
in the sound of laughing children, in a political rally, in a newspaper...
In all these things, and many more, you'll find America.
In all these things, you'll find freedom.
And freedom is what America means to the world. And to me.”
Audie Murphy
Freedom is an illusion.
In most states, fireworks are illegal.
LAND OF THE FREE?
If the freedom that we have here is an illusion then I will take that over the reality that I saw in Afghanistan as a “hunter” and my brother saw in China as a missionary. This is still the best country in the world even with its faults.
Went to a concert by the Air force band with Diamond Rio. Although not much of a country music fan, it was an ok concert and good fireworks. I usually go out in the front yard and fire off my 1700’s flintlock. Just a charge of black powder, no ball.
In the 1940’s T. Ohman made lithographic reproductions of the Declaration of Independence. He used a photographic negative of the original to get the correct color and the wrinkles and folds of the original. Then he overlayed the writing from the Stone copperplate engraving and he printed it actual size of the original about 2feet by 3 feet. This yielded the most accurate reproduction of the original ever made. Unfortunately the original housed in Washington D.C. has faded to mostly unreadable condition.
I’m happy to have the Ohman copy… soon to be framed.
Here are a couple of pics
Do they still make those? I would love to have one as well.
You should get a cannon, the pistol is very cool but not nearly as impressive as letting your neighbors know what day it is by rattling their windows. I saw a video of this somewhere, will have to find it again.
Freedom doesn’t warrant a lazy day. To keep freedom, people have to fight for it every day. If they don’t, they will lose it.
Same as a profitable investment. You can’t be lazy but must fight for your profits.
There is no illusion, beside the illusion in your head.
they were only produced back in the 1940s. But some are still available. Found mine on Ebay. Look up Theodore Ohman lithograph declaration of independecne on google and you may find some still available. I don’t hav a canon but I knew someone who had a black powder mortar. fired cement filled coke cans out of it. Fun to watch the can go sailing over the tree tops. I watched some cannons being fired and it’s cool to see the giant smoke rings coming out the muzzle!
Is there a number on the bottom of yours? I found one for $800 with 631/1250 on the bottom right corner.
Mine isn’t numbered like that. It just has the copyright printed but no hand numbers.
Our liberty is being taken from us, bit by bit, day by day, by the current regime in Washington. — It’s time for all of us to stop taking liberty for granted

Amazing artist. I wonder how long it takes him to do something like that. And to think, it’s only going to get washed away!
Fourth of July, 2011
You have to love a nation that celebrates its independence every July 4,
not with a parade of guns, tanks, and soldiers who file by the White House
in a show of strength and muscle,
but with family picnics where kids throw Frisbees, the potato salad gets iffy,
and the flies die from happiness.
You may think you have overeaten, but this is patriotism.

Well, what do you know! Harvard University — that great bastion of left-wing ideology and propaganda — has done a study on The Fourth of July, and they have determined that…
The Fourth of July is a Republican holiday.
(Socialists, liberals, and assorted leftists are, nevertheless, welcome to join us!)
