Friday closing candles not formed

Hi guys,

New trader here and hoping someone can help. I am currently trying to get to grips following a strategy that relies on end of day / 4 hour candle closes. Trading has now ceased for the week just gone and there are no corresponding closing candles for Friday. I am UK based and read that this may be due to the broker’s server time? I have tried a number of different brokers I believe to be on different server times and there are no end of day Friday closes across all time frames. Time on my MT4 market watch is 23:54:59.

Do Friday closing candles get presented x amount of time before 00:00 Monday?

I must be missing something very simple! Please share if you can clear this up for me. It would be much appreciated.

Hi.

I think what you’re saying is that there is no new price bar being shown for Monday. In other words it appears to you that the Friday bar has not be closed as yet. Safe to say that it is closed so you can use whatever close is being shown as the close.
