My name is Jalen. I’m 27 years old. I started trading June 2020. I am barber and lost my job because of the Coronavirus pandemic. The Government had closed down all the barbershops. A friend told me about Forex so I was interested and bought a cheap $15 Forex course 2 get me started.
I fell in love with trading. I’m a Sharp, analytical, and introverted type of person. I loved that I can make money using my natural inclinations.
My whole youth I was trying to be something I’m not. Whether it was trying 2 be an amazing athlete even though I’m not athletic or trying to be an amazing salesperson even when I hate being the center of attention. I finally get to accentuate what I’m naturally good at.
Growing up I liked chess, Yu-gi-oh, strategy games, reading, Runescape, etc… I was a bookworm who wasn’t a genius but always worked hard and got straight As.
My dream is 2 be a full time trader one day. I’m currently a manager at a barbershop.
Awesome. I wish you luck! Be ready for the emotional rollercoaster trading brings! But also wanted to say, barbershops are awesome. Yall truly bring value to society. Sometimes I wonder what value traders bring lol - I guess economic power to pay for goods and services lol
Good question lol. I believe the value we bring depends on what we do with our skillset. Do we just trade and make money or do we also use it to help others in need. Kind of a ‘‘with great power comes great responsibility’’ type of scenario. Not saying forex traders are super heroes
In theory. But I feel like this is reserved for traders who already make a lot. Like do I really think Mark Minervini donates 40% of his money to those in need lol. At what point are traders expected to “give back” and in what form? How are traders typically involved in their communities? (I can’t answer any of these because I made like $5 from trading this week hahahhaah)
The answers to those questions depend on your own situation and creativity of course. Something that comes from yourself. You have the freedom to make those decisions. No expectations
Welcome and good luck! It seems you have the right attitude and appetite for it. Try and set good habits early on as this will help with battling on when things seem tough.
You sound enthusiastic and driven so that’s a big plus .
Start with the school of pipsology and use a demo account first even though the temptation is to dive right in !!
