Hey everyone, I’m glad to be here at babypips! I checked out this site a few years ago, but as I am not a forex trader I never signed up. Anyhow, I am an experienced futures and equities trader who is looking to learn all about forex so that I can expand my knowledge and possibly start trading forex.

Hello vmodus! If you haven’t already, I suggest that you “enroll” in the BabyPips school of Pipsology (link below). That will provide you with some basics on the forex market. You may also want to open up a demo account to practice on as you go through the lessons.
Following that, we’re a pretty friendly community and we’re ready to help you along in your journey. Just ask any questions that you may have.

After all you can trade most currencies on the futures market.

Thanks, that is my plan. I do not even know if I want to trade forex yet, but I will go through Pipsology course as time permits.
I am a frequent contributor at futures io, so I expected a similar community over here.

Good question. I am mainly looking for knowledge in a new domain of trading. I am an algorithmic trader, for the most part, and I always like to see if concepts and algos I have developed for futures apply to forex (and equities, too). For example, my trading partner and wife (same person 
) developed a couple algos that work on forex, but not on futures, even currency futures.

Yep, done. I took the ’ Which Trading Style Is Best For You?’ quiz…surprisingly found out that I’m a scalper, where I would describe myself as somewhere between a day trader and short term swing trader. The quiz is probably more accurate than my own assessment. I sleep best at night when I have no open positions.
