Paulette Hamilton has been elected as Labour MP for the Birmingham Erdington constituency -

This was previously a Labour seat in a Labour city, and as the incumbent government more often than not loses by-elections the result is no surprise.

But this is a person with fundamental weakness in her beliefs in the British democratic process -

Its an open question as to whether she is a fit person to sit in the House of Commons.

With democracy there is no if or but - it’s either accept or deny - no in between.

I think you and I believe that nevertheless democracy remains the best system. By her own words, Paulette Hamilton was at one time at least not as convinced as we are. Perhaps she is still wrestling with the potential benefits for British black people of an uprising. Far from not voting for her, I wouldn’t turn my back on her.

Isn’t it a bit strange when an opposition party politician criticises the government party for failing to stick to a Manifesto promise?

What are they saying? Perhaps they’re saying the country would be a much better place if only the government carried out the policies it had promised to? I would have to agree…

Reform UK - Launches Candidate for Wakefield By-Election

Has a Conservative government ever seemed more out of touch with the voters who put it in power?

It’s bad enough that we must endure an endless stream of sleazy stories about wrongdoing in Westminster, which make clear that it’s one rule for us, and none for them.

Away from Downing Street’s party central, millions of working people are suffering a cost-of-living crisis while the government stands idly by.

In 2019 the Tories famously won ‘Red Wall’ seats for the first time in the North and Midlands, taking votes from people fed up with decades of Labour betrayal.

Now, instead of the promised ‘levelling up’, people in those areas face being weighed further down, burdened by Tory tax increases and soaring energy prices - stoked by the government’s green energy subsidies, which account for 25% of your unaffordable electricity bill.

[DONATE TO REFORM UK]

It is time we let the complacent Tories know that enough is enough.

That’s why it’s important that Reform UK is standing in the forthcoming by-election in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, caused by the resignation of Tory MP Imran Ahmad Khan after he was convicted of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old boy.

Our outstanding candidate is Chris Walsh, a local gym owner and businessman and married father of two. Chris describes himself as ‘a very proud Yorkshireman’ who is standing for Reform UK because ‘I care about the area, I care about the people here, and I want my kids to grow up in a world where they have opportunities’.

Reform UK leader Richard Tice shaking hands with Chris Walsh

We will be the only party in Wakefield campaigning for big tax cuts now, to encourage the economic growth that can provide decent jobs with wages that keep pace with inflation.

And we are the only party campaigning for the UK to rely on our own energy – the key to real growth and levelling up. We are standing on a fortune in shale gas beneath our feet, that could help resolve the energy crisis, if only the government had the nerve to face down the green zealots and go for it.

That must mean abandoning the crazy Net Zero targets, which will leave us paying even more money for even less energy. The Public Accounts Committee of MPs has revealed that Boris Johnson’s government has ‘no reliable estimate’ of how much its Net Zero policies are going to cost. That’s right – they have NO IDEA how many trillions we will have to pay for their green posturing. And they expect us to just put on an extra jumper and put up with it.

Net Zero looks set to be the new Brexit for the Tory Party, with splits emerging even among their own MPs. As we did with Brexit, we need to show them that voters won’t wear it.

People in Wakefield have voted to change Britain for the better before. In 2016 they voted 66.4% to Leave the EU and in 2019 they elected their first Conservative MP in 87 years, hoping for something better. Voters have been badly let down. But there can be no return to a Labour Party that cares more for its metropolitan elites than for working people. Now it’s time to vote Reform UK to change politics for good.

That’s why I am asking for [your support]

We know that times are hard. But every pound you can spare will be spent on Chris Walsh’s campaign.

The importance of this by-election goes way beyond Yorkshire. We all have an interest in sending this clear message to Westminster: the Red Wall seats are in play and we won’t let you take us for granted again!

Many thanks,

Richard Tice
Reform UK Leader

So now the government decides an energy firm windfall tax is a good idea after all.

If they had any credibility left it would be blown now.

Is it green for politicians to fly to meetings, conferences and events?

Its often said that if they fly less it encourages other people to fly less.

Who are these people who are sitting at home just waiting to be encouraged to fly less? Do they exist?

You won’t get one of course unless you join with me and the masses of “Conservative” voters comitted to voting REFORM at the next General Election. If you continue voting for pretend Conservatives - you will get Labour because there will be no last minute standing down this time!

Thanks for this. I looked over Reform’s website and their flagship policies. It all sounds good to me.

In my constituency there is currently zero chance of a Conservative MP. But there’s a possibility that a strong Reform vote across multiple constituencies will force Conservative HQ to recognise that day by day panic measures aimed purely at keeping a weak leader in place just won’t cut it.

Tice could find himself fulfilling the Farage role of forcing strategic government decisions from outside Parliament. Fine by me.

We really do need to tell the Simp of Princess Nut-Nut - to start thinking with the head on his shoulders instead of the one in his pants !

“Sector must improve lorry driver conditions or face tax, MPs say” reads the BBC News website headline.

But wait a minute. Which MP’s? And why do they say that?

To be clear, this is not what the government are saying, its what the Transport Committee of MP’s is saying. Its a cross-party committee, with 5 Conservative MP’s, plus 5 others, plus a Conservative MP as Chairman.

Why do they say haulage firms should improve drivers’ conditions? So that they can recruit more drivers, who are in short supply. Is it likely the haulage industry don’t know there’s a shortage of drivers? Is it likely they couldn’t conclude for themselves that better conditions might attract more drivers?

No. What the Transport Committee members backing this initiative want is for the shortage of drivers to continue, so that a special new tax (which might well be termed a “levy”) can be imposed. Which certainly won’t help recruit more drivers but I guess raising tax is their objective, not raising driver numbers.

Tax kills.

A Vote of confidence in Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s position has been announced this morning. The vote will take place this evening.

Its possible that Johnson will resign before the vote, in which case his party will simply nominate a new PM. If the vote goes ahead and Johnson wins, he remains as PM. If he loses the party will definitely need to nominate a new leader.

Either way its hopeful that we end up with a PM who does a better job at being PM.

Reform UK have launched their recovery plan for the UK. Many Conservative MP’s will be looking at the bottom of the page to see who wrote it - they’ll be disappointed to see it wasn’t Boris Johnson or Rishi Sunak.

The Tiverton & Honiton by-election on Thursday could be an interesting litmus test of support for Reform UK, though admittedly they have almost zero public profile right now. Reform UK did not stand here in the 2019 General Election.

But of more relevance might be the minor party votes. Expect the Conservatives to lose many voters, Labour to gain many and win the seat, but the key will be how many votes Reform UK receive compared to the LibDems and Greens. In 2019 the combined minor party vote was 20.2%, with the LibDems taking 73% of this and the Greens 18.8%, UKIP 7.9%.

If the Reform UK share of the minor parties’ vote goes up significantly, Johnson’s MP’s will notice - and he should be worried about them.

Couple of issues Tom - Wagon driving is a “mans job” and you don’t need a degree - so the feminists aren’t interested (it’s Real Work !)

They just want to bleat about the lack of drivers so they can bleat on about letting more “EU Slaves” - in to do the job for cheap wages. Much of teh real problem is caused by the “Civil Servants” who have refused to do the testing for teh last 2 years and many drivers have retired in this time - and I’ve just had top apply fpor a new licince (70) - I used to have 7 tonne lorry as past of my licence - but now they insist on doctor,s certificate and onerous paperwork - FROM THE DOCTOR as a prerequisite ! So now I can’t even take a part time driving job !

Doctors havn’t got the tim eto be fannying about with filling in driving licence forms (Assuming yoiu could even get to see one) - so you can’t get the cert required to even take the test !

I assume teh same catalogue of Misandry pervades the HGV testing systemn as well - in fact here is the uk rules in brief !

How th e hell can you expect a bloke to keep up his licence when the whole place is locked down and he can’t get tested - even if he takles a couple of years off to do something else - he has to jump thro’ all those hoops just to be “allowed” to drive a damn truck ! - Bloody idiots with useless degrees setting up more and more rules to stop genuine working blokes from earning a living ! - I bet the Poles don’t have any "5 tests and retest every 5 years shyte to go thro’ before they are allowed to drive in the uk !

No wonder the boys are all going MGTOW !

Companies must help cut living costs, says new cost of living tsar

Just to be clear, this “tsar” David Buttress is not a Minister, nor even an MP. He is a Welsh separatist previously employed by Just Eat. The BBC describe him as a co-founder of Just Eat, which he was not. Its not clear that he is an entrepreneur, not apparently ever having started a business.

Now that he has a difficult job to do in the public spotlight he of course wants to make it easier and less likely to fail embarrassingly for him. So he expects the food industry to change its business model for his sake.

He arrogantly ignores what he and we all know to be true - a company must make a profit for its owners. If it fails to do this, it fails as a company and others take its place. In the meantime it has weakened the UK economy and subjected its employees to the incredible stresses of company bankruptcy, redundancy and re-employment.

This is a closet socialist willing to ignore the rules of capitalism to ensure his own reputation. Perhaps he has eyes on a top job in Wales next?

Just Eat started in Denmark in 2000 - then was subject to a buy-out in '06 - Buttress was hired as CEO and co-founder of Just Eat UK in '06 - from there it expanded to 1st to NL , then to Irl and then partnerships elsewhere.

He remains a partner in a major GVC firm - the type of capitalist firm that socialists deride with venom - it’s interesting to see him viewed as a “closet socialist”

Btw those who may be interested in a GVC - Global Venture Capitalists - socialists oft times call them vultures - maybe because they put up the money where others put up the talk

To me an entrepreneur is someone who starts the business and then hires other people in. He didn’t start the business and he was hired in as an employee to run a new branch. I think that qualifies him only as a successful employee. Now he thinks the world owes him a living.
