Whether one believes in GOD or not, Trump the clown is trying his best to associate himself with that name and has many Christians believing he’s the messiah. He only uses that name if he thinks it can benefit him.

Another possible change is to join the European Free Trade Assoc - outside EU & EU customs but access to the single market.
One of the problems for GB exporters specifically is the ‘rules of origin’ clauses in the current ‘free trade’ agreement.
Goods that originate in UK are free of trade barriers - i.e. made in GB or substantially altered therein.
One of my suppliers imported from the US then re-exported to the single market - it was a substantial turnover - not now.
Another barrier is the need for customs clearance agents - costly and slow - again here in NI we have none of that - raise an invoice, pay vat to HMRC - get paid by customer.

Somewhat equivalent to our “Capital Gains Tax” in that it is apparently lower than “Income Tax” - However - does that “50%” count as income within the year in which it is sold - which I assume would push you into a higher Tax band ? or can it be spread over a number of years ? - or is there some other method of discounting the gain so those who have “owned” the asset for decades get to pay a lesser amount than someone who has realised teh “gain” over a couple of years ?

UK PM continues his re-set tour today with a meet with French President Macron.
Pres Macron broke with the usual protocol of not standing at the top of the steps c/w guards - instead they embraced in a friendly gesture - probably much to the dislike of EU sceptics at home in GB

Not into that leftist right thing TBH - I think the notion is a contrivance of non thinking over this past 100 years.- much easier just to put into a box to the left or right - or if in doubt the ‘centre’
Saw the PM described on mainstrem today as ‘centre left’ - so covering a couple of boxes.
Now the winter allowance being scrapped for many pensioners is described as right wing - last year we got £700 for zilch, this year we get zilch for zilch

Actually cannot see any argument - quite a good strategy - what’s wrong with it, why an argument about it - leaders gain advantage of their own groups all the time - it’s what they do - until their group ousts them that is.

I’m no fan of Corbyn but clearly a lot of ppl in Islington North are - see what he thought of those Labour voters.
I mentioned the winter fuel for pensioners - just stole that from pensioners that need or choose to work and pay taxes - many of whom voted Labour.
And we haven’t yet got to the budget.
Oh - nearly forgot that he wants to ban smoking in beer gardens - that’ll def help the hospitability sector for sure - guys will have to stand out on the pavement…

Must admit I started avoiding it about a year and a half ago because I was so offended by him, and specifically by the fact that this is someone “on the same side as me” (broadly, at least) who’s alienating such huge numbers of people. That’s concerning.
So anyway I must plead guilty to having no idea what he’s said for 18 months, really!
