I’m also in Perth - are there any particular advantages of choosing a Forex broker that uses AUD currency as base (aside from the fact that our rate is so low). Would you recommend GFT for someone starting out?

GFT is a very good broker. I have worked on its demo account and one of friend has opened a real trading account and working very fine. I have also heard of AVAFX from most of the persons engaged in forex trading. They say that it is having a nice demo trading as well a real trading platform.
