Going Pro?

No I am not planning on going quitting my job and trading full time hoping for a huge break.

I’m just wondering how you get hired by a company to trade the fx market? Does your broker notice you are bringing in huge pips and send you an e-mail saying “hey you want to trade for us?”

I’m just wondering because in this wonderful US economy I’ve been searching for jobs (freshly graduated UCLA) and have not had any luck sending out resumes. I’m assuming you also can’t walk into a bank with a chart in your hand showing how much you’ve made either.

I used to work at the Ritz-Carlton and naturally we deal with very wealthy investors (mainly from NY/Wall St., we even set up a trading office for one client in his corner ocean view suite) and they told me they started as analysts for different companies and then moved into trading. One told me his actual salary from his company is “only 250k”, but his bonus is in the millions

So how exactly do you go pro? I know you can just trade big lots on your own without a company, but I think having the peace of mind knowing you get a paycheck regardless would be nice

Maybe watching “The Pursuit of Happiness” staring Will Smith may inspire you with some ideas
