Have anyone been able to increased a $100-$200 account to a $1000 account?

Just asking out of curiosity, I want to know if anyone here has ever started Forex with a small amount say $100 to $200 and increased it to $1000 in a space of say a year.
Just want to know if it’s possible

Anything possible

if it is possible, would you recommend opening a live account with less than $100? this will be very helpful. thanks.

I know a trader that took $1k to $10k in a week, so yes. Anything is possible.

@justshell wow, in a week, that’s commendable.
Truly, anything is possible.

Woah forealz? That’s crazy. How long has this person been trading?

Very possible. It just require mind and breaking your risk management rules. But I won’t advice that.

Everybody can afford to speculate with $100, and $1000 doesn’t maybe sound very far away. But from there to a thousand bucks is a 900% profit. You’ve got to be kidding.

It would be a more efficient use of time to go to a casino.

Just look whats going on on different Forex-contests- if you do the same in reality, everything is possible.(if this is recommendable is another question…

Example:
Each week Wednesdays my broker starts for account holders a “Day-Contest”. That means the contest starts at Wednesday12:00 noon and ends Thursday 12:00 noon.
The rules: you get initial deposit 1000 USD, leverage 1:2000, stop out level 0, all common currency pairs allowed, no position or lot size restrictions. First ten get prizes as deposit for their accounts.
The first place holders allways make between approx.35000 and 75000,USD this day, they get 350 USD prize money,
the tenth makes between 8000 to 15000 on average, he gets 50 USD prize money.

So its possible.

By the way-
last week i took part at that contest, within hours i was this time the the lucky one and traded me up to approx.11000 USD… As i remembered the results of the last contests, when you needed at least approx.14-15000 USD to be the tenth to get your 50 bucks, i kept on trading to make this missing pips for 15000. Unfortunately i crashed and over.
When i saw the results at the end Thursday noon, i wanted to run up the next wall- if i had stopped trading at 11000 USD , i would have been the 6th and get my 50 bucks because this week the results where in general worse than the weeks before and the 10th only made 7800 USD …:rocket:

Exactly the point, nearly everybody can afford to speculate… with $100… and work out if trading Zero Sum markets such as Forex is for them…without losing their shirt… The whole concept of this idea (understood by very few here) is to take a small amount and learn to trade it to a larger amount… and decrease the risk of losing your initial funds. “Other People’s money”

Don’t look now @tommor, Spread Betting… you’re already at the Casino…

Do I pay tax on spread betting?
You don’t have to pay CGT on spread betting winnings because it is considered a form of gambling.
Legally speaking spread betting is gambling and in fact only a minority come out on top.

I think that although it’s possible to earn x3 or x4 with a $100 account, it’s also easier to lose compared to when you have something bigger at stake. Going for something a bit bigger, like $300 even could make you more motivated to be more consistent and smart about it. But that’s just what I think.

That’s the dream right there. That’s just amazing. How did he do it? What was the strategy he was using?

OMG. :open_mouth: That sounds super great! Good for your friend.

All trading is gambling. The difference between the different types of gambling is whether any knowledge or analytical skills can be applied. This is not possible in games like roulette, but can be applied in trading.

I suggest going to a casino as there is no known legitimate trading strategy that reliably produces a 900% profit in a year. I am willing to be corrected if one can be identified…

But going to a casino has other perks - you can get a drink and maybe enjoy a meal or a show. And there will possibly be pretty young things there who can help you spend your winnings… That all sounds a lot more pleasant than sitting in a corner of the house, sweating and hunched over a re-conditioned laptop.

Of course it is possible.
I made much more in about 30 seconds.
I went to USA last summer, I also spent 3 days in Las Vegas.

I bet $50, together with a friend of mine, on the number 19. We won $1800.

Everything is possible (but not probable) with gambling

Im assuming there are calculated methods for poker though, right? since they have pro poker players out here lol (sorry - dont know anything about the game)

It is yes. But not easy. And maybe a bit risky to make 10x your bank in a year.

Me too - never played poker, know nothin’ 'bout it.

there a guy from my city in Uk in local newspaper, reckons he made a million from a £1000 loan , im cynical it very difficult because most people have failures when first starting trading and you have to adapt to market conditions ect straight away.
