Howdy! Name is Nick. New forum member! I’ve been studying currency trading for years, having learned a lot from and referred many people to this site. Thank you for the school of pipsology. It is a really well-structured and valuable resource. Philosophically, I believe in the teachings of Kathy Lien, and have read a few other authors over the years.
Forex has always had to be an academic hobby for me, because I have a demanding career that keeps me busy during the best trading hours. Because my schedule prohibitively keeps from day trading, a couple of years ago I started down the path of writing an EA in MQL4 to do the trading for me. After much headache, sweat, and tears I think I’ve finally got it where I want it. I’m going through test phases in the live market right now, and everything is working out well so far!
Now that I’m putting the final touches on my robot, I’m seeking some community with other MQL4 EA authors. I tried reaching out elsewhere in what I thought was the most obvious community for MQL coding, and quickly found that the mere mention that my EA was working successfully was enough to get me in trouble. Hopefully I have better luck here. I do not intend to sell my EA and am not seeking to. I need things like peer review and feedback. Once I feel comfortable that I won’t lose people money, I’ll probably make the EA’s repo public (unless someone raises a good reason not to), but for now it’s still completing its test laps.
