Decided to get into Forex primarily for its 24/5 operating hours, it’s high volume and the somewhat narrow set of instruments available.

Welcome to the community. Keep learning. It takes time to get skills. As you are software engineer you know it very well that coding skills does not develop overnight. Same for trading skills. Need enough dedication and quest for learning the market.

When you say narrow set of instruments, did you get a chance to scroll down what options are there or I believe you’re not clear about how vast the technical tools and instruments are. Nevertheless, start your journey by learning all about the trade and build a strategy around it.
