Hi Leowwellee in Singapore and welcome from Canada.
Great place to start on this site is the “school” and learn as much as you can, then try to find a Trading Company that will give you a Demo account, so that you are not (immediately) using any of your own money. If you are working in an IT Support Job, then you will probably “catch on” quickly…still its a long learning curve and its important not to jump right in and use your own money until you have some idea of the markets and how the markets can move with a news announcement. Good luck.

Hi Sharron,
Thanks for the welcome message.^^
You also into forex?
How long have you been in trading in the forex market, care to share some trading tips?
I am currently playing around with Oanda demo account.
HI Leowweilee,
My background has been in Mutual Funds, which is a more conservative strategy, but after the 2008 major economic crisis, I find that making money from “a conservative” type of Fund is not as attractive as trying Forex. In answer to your question, I started in Binary Options, which I thought would be a way to use a Demo account while learning the “major” currency markets. To make a long story short, Binary Options have been far too risky and I have, as you have, started learning about the Forex through this site. Great site for learning while trying to get my feet “wet” in a new type of market. I have to say that I am really impressed with 1. this learning site and 2. the number of individuals on this site who are extremely knowledgable about Forex and of course willing to help us learn. I Found out from Foxtrot that our best solution is to move to Newbie Island, or Q&A while in our learning curve. Hope this helps and have a great day.

P.S. By the way…I spent 12 years “housing” students from Asia while they were attending our University, thus learn’t a great deal of the different cultures and times of the year for holidays (a useful tool in playing the currencies)… places they arrived from were Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and many other places in China…they came to our City the first year of University with trepedation, but by their fourth year and of course living with a family, they left with degrees in various fields. If they can leave their home, which is half way around the world and go into a learning situation, then I am humbled by them and will endevour to follow their lead in this new adventure/career…
