Hi there,
finally decided to introduce myself. Been interested in Forex for along time. Have got a small real trading account where I am learning to trade without getting upset about losses and not celebrating my wins too much ;). I found a managed trading system that has worked surprisingly well and really got my interest in Forex rekindled.
Goal is to develop my own system in MT5 as I enjoy programming and half automate the trading process (in the end I will of course fully automate it :)…). This project is ongoing
I went through the School of Pipsology about 1 to 2 years ago. Currently viewing no nonsense Forex on YouTube and reading through books on many different (financial) topics.
This brings me to my question, and my first contribution to the community! Below you will find my reading list (self-googled, not limited to Forex, but with heavy focus on financial matters). Please let me know if one or two of the books seems to be a waste of my time and if I have forgotten something obvious! For all the other newbies out there it might be a good first place to look for book suggestions!
List of general financial focused books:
- The Complete Turtle Trader read- can recommend
- The Richest man in Babylon read- can recommend
- Rich Dad Poor Dad read- can recommend, but ignore the story about his dads, its the message he conveys that makes the book worth reading
- The Intelligent Investor
- Market Wizards
- The New Market Wizards
- Unshakeable
- Beating the Street
Forex specific books:
- Naked Forex read - not my style of trading, but is still recommendable
- Currency Trading For Dummies (to be bought in e-book bundle with Investing, and Investing in shares for Dummies)
- Forex Trading Book Bundle by Cedric Telstine (not sure about this one, but it is dirt cheap so will probably give it a try)
Programming books:
- Expert Advisor Programming for MT5 currently reading nice introduction to MT5 programming
Honorary mentions:
- Principles read- really great book by Ray Dalio
