A trading platform is only a small piece of the pie, when looking at a broker you need to look at other things also, like spread, commissions and what countries they are registered in, amongst other things.

I for one also started out solely looking at the platform, and it is a vital part of trading…you will find that many brokers use the same platform ie. Meta Trader or CTrader.

There is no ‘best’ platform, some are better than others, but it comes down to what you prefer. I’d suggest opening a few demo accounts and trying them out. Starting with the more popular MT4.

Good luck

Since, you are new to trading, you should look at other brokers that offer really low spreads and fast execution. Don’t choose based on a house hold name or popularity. The popular brokers are not the best. 301 Moved Permanently

The trading platform should be the least of your worries. It does not really matter if you trade with cTrader, MT4 or a with a broker who designed their own platform. I would focus more on learning how to trade. I agree with jonelito that you should not pick a broker based on popularity. In the end it comes down to which platform you prefer.

Forex dot com is a household name? Lol that was funny.

The industry standard is meta trader 4 for home based retail trading. Learn that for basics and finesse your strategy then try the new mt5, which looks really promising.

You can try a proprietary platform, but the good thing about mt4 is almost any decent broker offers it.

Yes, Forex.com is a household name that’s why I like it

Why don’t you try them all out and see which one you’d like and then decide. We cannot decide for you. Only you can decide…I hope it makes sense…

Forex.com or Gain capital is great but usually for the experienced traders and yeah, they are popular but not so great given the spreads we get there. You may want to opt for other brokers with smaller spreads and go live with a nano account or do the demo…
Make sure you read up on the broker reviews, and good luck!

Lol awww… Usually for experienced trader?! That makes me feel special lol.

I used them from the beginning and I don’t have problems with them. As far as spread, I only traded the major pairs so it doesn’t really affect me as far as the cost…

Pepperstone is a good broker with good support and low spreads. XE Markets; now called XM, is also a very good broker. XM do quick withdrawals and they have good support also. Spreads aren’t as good as Pepperstone but they have offices in Europe where as PS is a Aussie broker.

Best platform for Spot Currency is Bloomberg followed by Reuters/Thomson.

What about their Nostradamus app, not an apt name and certainly did not live up to it - many newbies have fallen for it but that’s for another thread. The spreads are not that small but guess that’s just my take …glad it’s working for you
