HELP! MT4 Question

Hi Everyone,

Could anybody tell me how to set different ‘take profit’ levels on the same order in MT4?

For instance, If I’m long 1 mini-lot of EUR/USD and I want to close 1/2 the position and let the other half run, how do I do that on MT4?

Have absolutely no idea if that question makes sense

open the trade window for the active trade, change the volume or lots to the amount you want to close and click the close button. The close button is the yellow button below the buy and sell buttons.

Thank you urbanFX. In a related issue, assuming I don’t want to sit in front of my computer waiting for the trade to go my way, then start closing out different lots manually; can I set say two or more ‘take profit’ levels with the different lot amounts on the same trade? If yes, how?

Hey Hypechic,

MT4 does not have the functionality to scale out of trades as such. However, I have an EA that scales out of trades and adjusts stop losses etc which I got off another board.

When I get on my other PC I will post it for you

EA as promised.

  1. Unzip it to your experts folder
  2. Restart MT4
  3. Attach expert to your chart
  4. Complete the settings and you are good to go

For this expert to work, you need to check the “Allow Live Trading” and “Allow DLL imports” boxes under the common tab. Oh, and don’t forget to enable expert advisors in MT4 either.
