Help with automation

I posted something in the newbie forum but I think this might be a better place. I’ve really fine tuned a system for a while that I like but it is a pain to monitor. Can someone help direct me to a programmer that might be able to build the system for me? It’s done really well for me in back testing and for the last 4 months. I’ve missed some stops and reversals though from not being available 24/7.

It’s basically a regression trend line. Then I use upper and lower control limits that are 1 standard deviation, 2 standard deviations and 3 standard deviations away.

Then when a price breaks above a channel resistance, I go long, and reverse my position if it breaks through support. I’m not sure if this makes sense.

Right now, I use Excel to run regression. I then develop the control limits based on teh residuals and chart out the month. So I have all my channels determined for May. But I need a way to automate the trades. For instance, I want to go long when a quote breaks through a channel resistance. If a channel support is broken, I want to immediately reverse position.

Also, some nuances, I want to exceed the channel by 5 pips before making a trade. Horizontal channels are much easier as the channels stay fixed day after day. But I have to reset my channels and stop losses manually every day which is a pain and I sometimes miss them.

Sounds like I need a programmer. Any advice on where to turn? Is this something that is expensive?

did you get help from a programmer ?

No not yet. But I did find some sites and also bought a book called Expert Advisor Programming. I’ll probably put out a quote to one of the companies online. I would like to learn a bit myself so that I can tweak the program (i.e. instead of breaking through support by 5 pips, maybe I need 10).
I already missed one opportunity that cost me about 50 pips on the recent dollar strength and then decline yesterday.

Im in the middle of writing a pretty complicated EA for someone in Canada, but I dont mind giving you some pointers if I can.

Thank you so much. I think I found a reputable site and got a decent quote last night. This will be fun venturing into automation. I love this forum as people here seem to be genuinely kind and helpful such as yourself.

ok thats good. The guys on the MQL4/5 forum are pretty good too.
