Help with fapturbo at forex.com

Hi, I recently purchased fapturbo and deposited $1000 into an account at forex.com. The broker told me I should have my GMT offset set to 0 but I have had some huge losses last week and don’t think that this is the right setting. I lost $120 in one trade at lot size 0.07 when the indicators on the graphics looked as if I should have made a substantial gain because the trade went up and up and up. On forex.com the market watch time freezes on friday at 21:00 when everyone knows that the forex market closes at 22:00 GMT. Should I be adding and hour to my GMT offset? Could this be the problem or is it something else? I don’t think fapturbo should allow for such a huge loss when in the instructions it says it is coded for small losses. Can someone help me out with this? The pair that lost this amount in one day was EUR/GBP any help is appreciated, thanks!

Ok, well to everyone reading this, there must be something happening trading the EUR/GBP pair because the other 3 scalping pairs make money for me. I looked through my tade history and the only pair that lost consistantly and lost big amounts of money was the EUR/GBP so what I am doing is just not trading EUR/GBP any more and leaving my GMT offset to 0 as recomended by my broker, problem solved. If anyone can tell me if my GMT offset should be 1 let me know because I find it wierd that the market watch time freezes at 21:00 on friday and not 22:00 friday.

Hello

I am running FAP on Forex.com with one hour offset. If the tyrader time is any different to GMT time, then there must be an offset.

Hope this helps

If you’re using fapturbo 54 then the auto gmt setting works for you. It will then ignore the manual offset.

To check the manual offset, which you need for back testing, you should check your broker clock on MT4 vs a website gmt clock. Or you could switch your computer to gmt.

The gmt offset is important but a bigger issue in the current climate is market volatility vs the standard scalper SL. My backtests suggest that with TP4 and SL45 you would be flat or down on the last two years. Check out the other thread on settings for fapturbo.
