My name is Chelsea + I’m from Dayton. My boyfriend, Jon, told me about the group. I’ve been listening to some of the conversations you guys have while he’s listening and it peeked my interest. My financial goal is to replace most of the income I recently lost. I have heard of Forex before. I’ve been trying to make an income from my phone since I was 15/16; from paid surveys and ad placement to network marketing companies and virtual assistance. I heard about Forex for the first time in 2016 but my circle of people talked me out of it + fed my skepticism. I’ve been working 9-5s off and on for the last 4 years + I’ll begin work as a Realtor in January. I want to learn to trade to support my family and accommodate financially for slow periods in the Real Estate market.
Your friends were right to urge caution but wrong to talk you out of trading. Most people start trading badly and never get the chance to improve their techniques before they are wiped out. Just not doing what most new traders do will immediately put you ahead of the game.
After that, learn to trade in a demo account. Run demo trades according to a simple realistic strategy and understand why the losing trades are losing and how the winning trades could do better. Then demo some more. Etc. Don’t trade with real money until you can trade profitably in demo.
Welcome Chelsea. The harsh reality of noobs starting Forex trading is that over 73% fail, which is why brokers encourage them to lose whatever capital they have.
Forget all these media ads that show happy smiling people making loads of dosh by pressing buttons on their mobiles - it’s fiction, doesn’t happen in real life.
Which means to be successful you have to work at it for a few months to see if it suits your lifestyle on a demo account. You can begin your learning process by pressing the green education button above.
Best of luck.
