Hi. New pip chaser here

Hi, my name is Brendon.

I was recently introduced to trading by my girlfriend. I have been working through baby pips school, and reading anything I can get my hands on about trading.

I opened a demo account, and have started trading with limited skills, but am trying to find strategies, and a style I am comfortable with.

I would like to have some success with the demo, before going live. I plan to start my live trading with about $7000.

So far my demo has been up and down, and I don’t have a clear idea about what strategies to stick with. Is like to keep records of my trades and progress, as my family are willing to contribute to my account if I can show them evidence of success.

I am excited, and keen to learn. Look forward to the journey ahead. Cheers

Maybe you should try recording your trade setups in a journal so that you can filter out those strategies that work best for you and those that don’t  Good luck!

Great idea! Is there a template, or form that shows what info to keep track of ? I’d appreciate help with setting up a good record keeping process. Thanks

Not sure if there’s a good template out there, but I find that making your own works just because you can track exactly what you want to know. Here are a couple of Excel columns that might be useful:

  1. Currency pair
  2. Time frame used
  3. Indicators used
  4. Size of stop loss (pips)
  5. Risk %
  6. Reason for entry/exit
  7. Suggested improvement for the next trades

You can visit MeetPips.com to see how other traders structure their journals.

Good luck!
